Overview

Vybra answers the question "what should I do tonight?" with suggestions based on each person's tastes and location. We delivered the discovery feed, separate event and venue browsing, the paid membership with partner perks, referrals and an AI assistant, for iOS and Android.

02

The challenge

Planning a night out meant checking ticket sites, venue pages, social posts and search results, then guessing which were worth it. Vybra wanted to replace that with one app whose suggestions actually fit the person, and to fund it through a membership that offers more than a feed of listings.

03

Our approach

We made personalization the home screen rather than a filter, and treated events and venues as two different products with their own browsing and detail views.

04

How we built it

4 steps, from architecture to launch.

  1. 01

    Taste plus location

The home feed mixes each user's interests, their location, what's trending and what's coming up.

  2. 02

    Precise location

Device GPS works alongside Google Places and Geocoding for address search, autocomplete and distance.

  3. 03

    Membership through the stores

RevenueCat handles plans and a 7-day trial on iOS and Android, with partner perks on top.

  4. 04

    Growth loops

Referral codes travel as deep links and are tracked through to rewards.

Technical challenges

Problem → How we solved it
01

Personal feeds, not generic lists

Problem

A plain list of nearby events overwhelms people and rarely fits.

How we solved it

Ranking combines saved interests, location, trending activity and dates.

02

Events and venues kept separate

Problem

An event and a bar need different information and different ways to browse.

How we solved it

Separate Events and Places sections, each with its own categories, filters and detail pages.

03

A paid tier on both platforms

Problem

Membership had to work identically through Apple and Google billing.

How we solved it

RevenueCat manages plans, the free trial and membership state across both stores.
